Taric is one of the oldest character in League of Legends. Well, at least in my LoL Account since I play support from day 1. He is one of the very first supports in the game that can be killers as well. As Riot has done some reworks on other champions (that are younger than Taric), it is about time that they do this Gem King some rework. It is not because he is weak. It is just with the release of newer champions, in my opinion, Taric is “behind” with his abilities and options in the game. Now that has been reworked, I think Taric can legitimately go toe-to-toe with the champions in LoL in every role.
LoL Account: Reworked Abilities
Bravado – Passive – whenever Taric casts a spell, his next two basic attacks becomes faster and with additional damage.
Q – Starlight’s Torch – Taric generates charges for this skill. He can store up to three charges. Starlight’s Torch’s heal/s depends on the number of charges present.
W – Bastion (new) – This skill has a passive and an active effect. Bastion passively increases Taric’s armor while the active links Taric to another ally which protects that ally with the same shield. This link will break if Taric casts Bastion to another ally or if the linked ally goes far away from Taric.
Note: Linked ally also casts the skill Taric casts. Dazzle will also be casted on the direction where Taric casts it and there will also be Cosmic Radiance on the linked ally.
E – Dazzle (new) – This skill comes out like a short rectangular area of celestial energy which stuns everyone in that area. Note that this skills has a cast time and needs some getting used to in order to master it.
R – Cosmic Radiance (new) – The new ultimate of Taric is pretty amazing and I’m really excited for this. Cosmic Radiance will make Taric and nearby allies invulnerable for a short time.
This rework brought out the support hype in me. I was literally begging Riot to put out a new support champion or at least rework on one of the old supports and here we go!
Taric’s new abilities are looking good and for sure the support role will be a spotlight in the coming weeks!
